what inspires me

I love love love the different illustrations here at theydrawandcook.com  I want to submit my own entry someday soon.  I especially love the entries from Salli Swindell.  I really really love her font and love her style of illustration.
I was reading another of my favorite blogs elizabethkarchner.blogspot.com and she asked the question:  "What inspires you?"  Well these two websites do.  Take a peek, you'll be hooked.

DCWV Madly In Love Stack

Okay, so this is another stack that I designed.  I originally started out with the frogs without the rib cage (you have to look close).  Then it turned into this valentine stack full of rebellious critters, skulls, and a few hearts.  The funny thing is when the boss over the design team for scrapbooking looked at it, he asked who designed the stack (which he usually doesn't do).  Of course I couldn't avoid the question and said that I did.  He asked me if I hated Valentine's Day. I thought that was funny.  Madly In Love is definitely different than the traditional valentine's day hearts and arrows that you usually see.  I hope you like it.

DCWV Linen Closet Stack

Well, I have been keeping busy at work and am posting a couple more stacks I designed.  I hope you rushed out to get them already.

Sheri's Baby Shower

Hello I have finally found something to post about, but I have to warn you that these pics are not professional as you can see.  I had the job of decorating for my friend Sheri's baby shower.

Pic 1 & 2: This is probably the best close up picture of the garland I made.  I tried sewing them together, but the needles kept bending.  I then tried to staple them to the thread, but it looked terrible.  I ended up gluing the circles on the thread.  That is what took the longest.  There were hearts and birds on the circles.
Pic 3:  Baby blocks for the center piece.
Pic 4:  Here's Sheri and the cupcake toothpicks.

Congratulations Sheri!

Spark

Went to Spark this last weekend.  See what spark is all about here:  www.sparktheevent.com Some of my co-workers are pictured on here....hee hee.  Anyway it was a lot of fun.  The biggest craft weekend I have ever participated in.  I love this layout that we made there.  The sample was in a white shadow box and I thought it was so cute.  Wish I would have taken a picture of it, but just imagine....anyway, thought you might enjoy.

Tuesday, November 3, 2009

Well, don't give up on me yet.  I had a busy week last week, but I didn't forget that I made a goal to post something every Tuesday.  So I have decided that I wanted to try and make a coupon book to keep all of my coupons in.    I also wanted to use my new Bind It from my mom, thanks mom. The coupon book will be something easy to take with me when I have to go and do my grocery shopping.  So I just thought of how I could construct it with the paper that I have laying around the house.  I actually really like how it turned out, but don't know how thick it will getwhen the coupons are thrown in.
