I Am Grateful For:

a job, a good place to live that is inviting and feels like a home, my family, my friends that put up with me, and being able to laugh.  Those are just a few today.

It's time for me to remember the things that I am grateful for.  I am going to put something I am grateful for on every post I do so that I can be reminded of how much I am blessed with.  That is about as personal as I will be getting on this blog.

Happy Valentine's Day card

Okay, I am going to attempt to show you a tutorial for a Valentine card. Here are the supplies I used to make the card:  scissors, black ink stamp pad, mounting squares (or glue), foam squares, black marker or pen, round corner punch, a scrap piece of red cardstock (big enough to cut a heart out of), a scrap piece of pink cardstock, a scrap piece of white cardstock (big enough to write Happy Valentine's Day!!), and a blank cream or white card (size is 4.25w x 5.5h or you can cut an 8.5 x 11 sheet of cardstock in half and then fold one of the pieces in half hamburger style).
Cut out a heart shape from your red piece of scrap cardstock.  The nice thing about this heart is that you can fold it because you will just end up crumpling up the heart anyway (which is the next step).
To get the heart to look like this you will need to quickly stick the cut out heart under water, crumple it in a ball, and then flatten it back out.  It doesn't take very long to dry, so after it is dry run the black ink stamp pad along the heart and the wrinkles will pick up the ink.  Take your round corner punch and punch the corners of the card, all 4 corners or just the 2 like I did. Stick mounting squares on the back, adhere the heart more toward the top of the card leaving room for the Happy Valentine's Day greeting.

For the Valentine greeting:  Cut a rectangle out of your pink card stock and a rectangle, that is slightly smaller than the pink, out of white cardstock.  Adhere the white piece to the pink piece with mounting squares.  Write Happy Valentine's Day on the white part.  Adhere foam square on the back of the pink rectangle to make it pop up.  Attach to bottom of card under where you placed the heart (see finished example to understand since I didn't take a picture of this part).

Here is the finished card.  It is a really basic card, but really quick to make.

Nana's Kitchen Stack from DCWV

Well, here is another stack that I worked on.  Rafael and I completed this one.  Looks like JoAnns has all 15 of the new stacks out now and listed on their website at joanns.com  I love creating new papers.  The Green Stack ended up being a real hit and I am so happy about that.  I had fun making the little animals and coming up with the different layouts.  Thanks for your comments.  I never knew how fun it would be to hear from everyone.  Keep posting.

Frog Card

Here is a frog card I made a long time ago.  Someday I will have some current stuff.  It was most fun coloring his spots.  I wish it were a ground hog....Happy Ground Hog Day!
